Unibail-Rodamco was created in 2007 by the takeover by the French company Unibail of the Dutch Rodamco Europe. After the acquisition the it was the largest listed property fund in Europe. Unibail's history began in 1968 as a finance lease facility. Rodamco Europe was founded eleven years later as an investment fund of Robeco. Unibail-Rodamco is a real estate investor with a primary focus on retail property. The investments are primarily in dominant locations in major European cities and is invested in 3 types of objects. These are the larger shopping centers, office complexes, and fair and exhibition buildings. Unibail-Rodamco is both owner and manager of its store investments. Home markets are the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Spain, Germany and Czech Republic.
