Profile
Corbion (previously: CSM) is one of the world's largest suppliers of bakery products and market leader in lactic acid and lactic acid derivatives. Corbion produces and distributes a wide range of bakery products and ingredients for artisan and industrial bakeries and for both in-store and out-of-home markets. Corbion also produces various lactic acid applications for the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Corbion operates in business-to-business markets. Corbion is committed to creating value for both shareholders and other stakeholders of the company. Corbion focuses on achieving, maintaining and developing strong market positions in bakery products and lactic acid (derivatives) to thereby create a sound basis to achieve growth in earnings per share. Growth through both organic growth and acquisitions play a role. The strategy rests on three pillars: 1. Creating an efficient and effective organization (3-S program). 2. The optimum setting of the organization for organic growth. 3. Investing and divesting divisions to optimize the market. Growth should be achieved while maintaining a sound financial position, and is measured using two criteria: 1. ROS (return on sales), return on net sales. 2. ROCE (return on capital employed), the tax return on capital invested.
